We’ve been discussing for some time what to name our new church and community building. Having whittled it down to a shortlist, the church meeting decided this week that the name of the new building will be “The King’s Barn – home of Peebles Baptist Church”.
So why the King’s Barn? It’s on our land, which is known as the King’s Meadow (so where better place to have a barn?), and it’s in an area of Peebles which is historically known as Kingsmeadows. The “king” from the historical title was one of the ancient Scottish kings (if you know which one, we’d be interested to hear from you!) However, it’s now a reference to the King of kings! A barn is a place where communities would often gather to celebrate, and of course it’s a great place to gather the harvest…
The next job is to work on branding and a logo!
