We knew when we embarked on the King’s Barn project that we would have to get serious about fundraising. Over the years Peebles Baptist church has witnessed and can testify to the generous grace of God in sustaining the fellowship and meeting our needs. We are a small group of people, who love Jesus and want to be good news in our community and we rest in the knowledge that we serve a gracious and generous God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and who will supply our needs (Psalm 50:10) . Based upon this bedrock of trust, our strategy includes a package of fundraising events, sacrificial and regular giving by our congregation and friends of the church and applying for grants. The King’s Barn is all about a space for the church family and for the community. Our funds were boosted recently with the receipt of grant funding by BCCF Environmental, The Robertson Trust, All Churches Trust, and the Baird Trust. This funding has been given to us to allow us to create a building that will be good news to our community and that will be built with green and eco principles in mind. We are truly thankful to the funding bodies mentioned for considering our project to be worth investing in.
