We’re aware that our actual building has not seen much building activity for the last few months while we have wrestled with some issues and challenges associated with a project like this. So we were glad to hold another community lunch to mark the new year. Events like this remind us of why we think community is important. This year again it was held at St Joseph’s Neighbourhood Centre, and we enjoyed delicious food and puddings and had musical accompaniment from our Ukulele group.
We also held another Scottish Quiz night with supper, fundraising for the King’s Barn. Thanks to Liz for her excellent brain teasers and to the catering team for a lovely supper. This event raised £500 for the building fund!
With the knowledge that the steel frame is being manufactured for us by Robinsons in Lockerbie, and will be delivered to the site very soon, we press on with our fundraising and with meeting as a worshipping community – even though the space available to us in the Community Centre is not ideal. We have re-focussed our fundraising efforts by producing a short video about the mission of the church, and our hopes for the King’s Barn. you can view this film here.
