Christmas Meal Ticket

A building is only useful if it is a place used by people living in the community. One of our hopes for the King’s Barn is that it will be good news for the South Side of Peebles – where we are short on places to meet together. Peebles Baptist Church has a heart for the community – we are a small group of people who love Jesus and love others – and it is well known that we also love… FOOD! For the past few years, we have held a community Christmas lunch which is open to all, free of charge, and is a way of us welcoming in anyone for whom the festive season can feel lonely or difficult. It is also a great excuse for a sing song, some games, and some good old-fashioned cooking done by our church cooking team. Thanks to all who made this year’s meal another big success -this year we were grateful to St Joseph’s Neighbourhood centre for allowing us to use their lovely hall. The menu was hot pots and home made puds, and those present took part in a quiz and some singing. Here are some photos of the lunch:
