John grew up in the vibrant East Kilbride Baptist Church of the 50‘s and 60’s, came to faith in his mid-teens, and was baptised in 1969. His parents now live in Nairn alongside his sister’s family. John studied English Literature, later obtaining a post-graduate diploma in social work. His working life has been spent mostly in the development of services for men and women with learning disabilities in various parts of Scotland. John married Moira (Fowels) in 1981, and they have one daughter, Emma. John’s interests include the Heart of Midlothian and jazz music.
