Thanks to Yoo Star Recording Studio in Loanhead (via a Groupon voucher from Frank!) the PBC Men’s Group spent an evening in November putting their collective vocal talent to practice. Here’s what happened…
Baptists from across Scotland met at the end of October for our annual Assembly. As usual, several people from PBC attended as delegates, and here are comments from some of them on what their Assembly highlights were. The following photos of Assembly are courtesy of Graham Clark.
A great day had by all at the Biggar Heritage Park on Saturday 13th September 2014. This is the first time we’ve tried a “whole church” outing – with “gala lunch bags” provided, a beautiful sunny day, and an ideal spot for all the family.
A baby shower was held for Morag on February 15th, and we all had a lovely time drinking tea, eating cakes and sandwiches and taking part in Emma and Moira’s excellent quiz which featured song clips with the word ‘baby’ in them. Diversity had a crafty evening in January – Frances Hider demonstrated the art of batik – painting with wax onto cloth, and then applying coloured dyes to the cloth to create a very individual piece of art. 10 of us took part in the evening, and the whole experience was relaxing and stimulating all at [ more… ]
We had a bulb planting session last Saturday, making use of the new raised beds and ensuring that we have some colours emerging in the Spring. Plenty to get involved in for young and old – we particularly appreciated the harvest from the chocolate brownie tree and the coffee bush!
Our new raised beds (as reported in the previous post) were put in place last weekend by Mark from local firm Graham Irvine. Mark is a grand master of the JCB (actually it was a Caterpillar) – he levelled and lifted and spun and nudged and filled to our hearts delight. There is no doubt [ more… ]
