The King's Meadow
Peebles Baptist Church is organising a community Barbecue and Bake Sale in aid of Comic Relief.
Weather permitting, the event will be held on the church’s land at the King’s Meadow Community Garden, which is at the side of Victoria Park behind the Victoria Park Day Centre. It’s scheduled for Red Nose Day itself – Friday 24th March, from 4-6pm.
Comic Relief is doing some exciting work to move towards a just world that’s free from poverty. That’s something that we believe in too, so we wanted to play a part in that – as well as have a lot of fun, build up the community and be good news on the South Side of Peebles!
For several years, the church has been running Sunday barbecues every month during the summer, and has long practice in baking – as a visitor once remarked, “you seem to do food at every opportunity!” Putting the two together and raising funds for such a fun event sounded like too good an opportunity to miss! So why not come along and have some fun, grab a burger and a cake, and help raise some money for Comic Relief?
