We’re aware that our actual building has not seen much building activity for the last few months while we have wrestled with some issues and challenges associated with a project like this. Fund raising and giving back go hand in hand

Christmas Fundraising – we took part in the Peebles Charity Christmas Market, and also held our own event: the Christmas Shopper’s Canteen. A Harvest of Cake & Coffee!

This month we held another fundraiser, this time in the Leckie Memorial Church Hall. Our coffee mornings are always popular, not least because we serve excellent (Fairtrade) coffee with sumptuous home-made cakes. Thanks to all who baked, served, or helped in other ways. This event raised £230 for our building fund.

Having whittled it down to a shortlist, the church meeting decided this week that the name of the new building will be “The King’s Barn – home of Peebles Baptist Church”. So why the King’s Barn? It’s on our land, [ more… ]

Count the bumblebees

The wild flower beds in the King’s Meadow Community Garden seem to be particularly popular with bumblebees! How many can you spot?

Tidying up the neighbourhood gardens

We were aware that our building site is not the prettiest and could be quite an eyesore to those living next to it. This thought occurred to one of our members who gifted some money towards buying bulbs and plants to put into the flower beds in Cleland Avenue. We also had loads of plants [ more… ]
