A great day had by all at the Biggar Heritage Park on Saturday 13th September 2014. This is the first time we’ve tried a “whole church” outing – with “gala lunch bags” provided, a beautiful sunny day, and an ideal spot for all the family.

Although we’ve talked about potatoes quite a lot (and we did harvest several bucketfuls of them!) there have been plenty of other things growing in the King’s Meadow this year. In Pictures: Getting ready for Spring

We had a bulb planting session last Saturday, making use of the new raised beds and ensuring that we have some colours emerging in the Spring. Plenty to get involved in for young and old – we particularly appreciated the harvest from the chocolate brownie tree and the coffee bush!

Our new raised beds (as reported in the previous post) were put in place last weekend by Mark from local firm Graham Irvine. Mark is a grand master of the JCB (actually it was a Caterpillar) – he levelled and lifted and spun and nudged and filled to our hearts delight. There is no doubt [ more… ]
